No, the color you see is pretty much the color you will get and it is amazing but I would suggest buying two different shades and see which one works better for you. Yea, it is spending a little bit more by buying two...but spending 10-14 dollars is better than looking like a clown lol trust me, it has happened to me. Try them out!!!

usually anything that goes on wet and dries will dry up a bit lighter. But then again, the depth could be fine for you but the shade itself could be off unless you have a very... ';generic'; skin tone and undertone (meaning that your undertones match the exact limited undertones offered by drug store makeup)
It tell you on the container what your buying like light or dark





It is probably a little lighter on your skin
Sometimes when I need makeup, I use the maybelline concealer stick, and it seems to be the only brand that doesn't do that. I have actually experienced that problem with cover-girl though.
