So...what do I do? I spent good money on it, so I want to keep using it (plus, it's a GREAT shade on me)
So, any one want to help? How do you apply Dream Matte Mousse (a foundation) really well without caking. Ladies, can you help?
You should apply it with a sponge wedge. this will keep it smooth and consistent. If it is too dry like a thick cake. Moisten the sponge before dipping it in the foundation. When you wet your sponge or brushes before applying make-up it goes smoother and also lasts longer. Especially lasts for eyeshadows. How do you apply Dream Matte Mousse (a foundation) really well without caking. Ladies, can you help?
I use Dream Matte foundation and blush, and I haven't had any caking issues. One of the main attributes of Dream Matte Mousse is that it has a special polymer that prevents it from caking! I use a foundation brush, which helps smooth the color evenly and completely. I also found that when I piled the blush and foundation over each other too thick it caked, so perhaps you're applying too much foundation? If you're using it to cover up blemishes in addition to just even your skintone, then you might want to start using a concealer first. That will eliminate the need to use a lot of foundation. I hope this helps!!
The great think about this foundation, is you need hardly any to cover your entire face, so make sure your not putting on too much. That is probably why it is caking on so much.
Good luck.
You can try using a makeup sponge or foundation brush, but from my experience that mousse stuff is very cakey in general. It also doesn't seem hygenic since the jar is totally open. I would hesitate to smear something like that on my face. It looks like it could get contaminated very easily and I'd hate to break out.
Make sure you blend the foundation in really well. and if you are using too much then maybe try not to pile on so much..
hope it helps :)
I used to have the same problem, but I went to Lancome and bought the special mousse foundation that they have for their own ';Magique Matte Mousse'; which is exaclty the same as Maybelline just 4 times more expensive. The brush is about 50 dollars (expensive but amazing) and it's sooo worth it!! It's perfect because this type of brush is round and specially made for the foundation so you get to put on the foundation extrememly fast, without caking, and it actually goes on more sheer if you want it that way (or you can add more to cover imperfections)...just go the lancome deparment and ask for the ';magique matte mousee'; brush and it will be nice and round.
good luck!!
